Jack boarded the train

Jack boarded the train. He walked through several cars, choosing a seat with care. He wanted to travel facing backwards.

He closed his eyes and wore his headphones. He sat in this way for a long time.

He opened his eyes and stared at a poster at the opposite end of the car. He couldn't read it, but not just because it was far away. He had forgotten how to read because he hadn't done it in a very long time.

A friend called, and he began to talk.
